A young lady who wants to be a professional musician but gets stage fright and suffers self doubt about whether she is good enough etc. I had explained to her about Freeway CER and she asked me if I thought it could help her with it.

She says that the fear when it catches her stops her from projecting her voice properly and she struggles to function. She knows it's what she wants to do and she fights the fear each time but she hates feeling like that.

She sat with me and we started to take some notes. She told me that her father loves her very much and is concerned for her, so he keeps telling her she should train as a nurse, even though she hates the sight of blood.

He thinks that she is wasting her time trying to be a musician and that she should do something that will give her a secure lifestyle. She said that she wants to scream dad just leave me alone, but then that she doesn’t  because she wants him to come to her gig and be happy to be there instead of looking as though her mum has dragged him there. She said that the things he said, more than anything, made her feel worthless and that was what she wanted to tap with, "feeling worthless".

When we started it was firmly at 10 and she was quite agitated and a little choked and tearful.

She was began to focus and after the first round of tapping she told me that she was in a trance and that it had gone down from 10 to 4 after the second round she went down from 4 to 0 but she told me that she wasn’t sure it would stay away so we did another round so that she was totally clear that it was gone and would stay away now.

I gave her the instructions and pamphlet with my number so that she can contact me if she needs to.

Her gig is on Wednesday night! I saw her a little later and she was giving her friend a neck massage. She gave me a huge smile and said “look what you've done to me I'm a changed person”, and we think our friend needs to come to you so we are trying to talk her into coming.
